ABOUT TMS THERAPY
TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) is an innovative treatment for stubborn depression and other neurological conditions that treats issues at their source: the brain. Your brain has four different lobes that control specific functions. Chronic depression is associated with the prefrontal cortex, the area of the brain that is responsible for mood regulation. TMS therapy is designed to specifically target and treat this part of the brain in order to restore optimal function. By delivering low-impact electromagnetic impulses to this area, the brain is stimulated in ways that restore function and heal the mind from the inside.
ABOUT TMS THERAPY
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is an innovative, FDA-approved therapy for treatment-resistant depression and other neurological conditions that addresses issues at their source: the brain. Your brain has four different lobes that control specific functions, and chronic depression is linked to the prefrontal cortex, the area responsible for mood regulation. TMS therapy, a non-invasive depression treatment, specifically targets this part of the brain to restore optimal function. By delivering low-impact electromagnetic impulses, TMS stimulates the brain in ways that promote healing and enhance integrative mental health care, improving overall mental well-being.
WHAT TO EXPECT
During each TMS therapy session, you will sit in a comfortable chair in our office while a low-impact, non-invasive medical device is placed over your head. To stimulate the area of the brain causing your depression, magnetic pulses will be sent through the device to promote the formation of new neural pathways.

HOW DOES IT COMPARE WITH OTHER TREATMENTS?
Learn why 75 percent of patients report benefitting from TMS therapy.
Therapeutic magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy sessions are typically 19 minutes long and treatment takes place over six weeks.
Everyone responds differently based on the severity of your symptoms. Approximately 75% of the patients who receive TMS can expect greater than 50% improvement in symptoms, and about 65% can expect complete remission for up to a year post-TMS treatment.
For the majority of patients who receive TMS therapy, most will begin to feel a lift in their symptoms after their first 10-15 treatments. However, most patients will experience a significant lift in their symptoms and an overall improved mood around the 4th to 5th week of treatment.
TMS therapy is FDA-approved for adult patients with depression who have tried antidepressants and therapy yet continue to experience symptoms of depression. TMS helps with depression, anxiety, and certain other mental health conditions.
While TMS therapy is most widely used for the treatment of depression because it is reimbursed by most insurance, it is also used to treat anxiety, PTSD, OCD, and other mental health conditions.
